Children and Teens

The clients work one on one with me in a safe, loving, and confidential environment. In my practice, I combine psychoanalysis, Gestalt Therapy, and the Oaklander Model to address the unique needs of each client, whether child, teen, or adult. Psychoanalytic techniques help uncover unconscious conflicts, early attachment patterns, and repressed emotions that may be influencing present-day experiences. By bringing these unconscious elements into awareness, we foster long-term healing and insight.

For children, I incorporate the Oaklander Model, a Gestalt approach to play therapy. This highly creative and effective method prioritizes the therapist-client relationship, focusing on honoring the child’s unique process rather than simply interpreting behaviors. Children engage with tools such as clay, drawings, projective cards, sand trays, and puppets, allowing them to express themselves in ways beyond words. Through play, children gain insights, develop problem-solving skills, and grow emotionally and psychologically.

For teens, I offer a more tailored approach that respects their developmental stage and preferences. Sessions focus on fostering self-awareness, emotional regulation, and coping strategies through age-appropriate techniques, such as guided discussions, journaling, and creative expression. These methods help teens navigate challenges, build self-confidence, and strengthen their ability to manage life’s complexities.
